Huawei is poised to shake up the tech world with its new 2-in-1 tablet. According to the latest leaks, the Huawei MatePad Edge’s performance will rival Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro.
How has the Huawei MatePad Edge’s performance been improved?
Renowned tech source UncleKanshan shared a striking list of the device’s specifications. According to the source, the new tablet will run three times faster than the previous-generation MatePad Pro 13.2, thanks to its powerful PC-like Kirin chip.
The MatePad Pro 13.2 featured a Kirin T92 processor. The new MatePad Edge now features an advanced Kirin 9 series chipset. This power boost allows the device to compete with the iPad Pro 11 (2025) featuring the Apple M5 processor in benchmark scores.
To maintain this high performance, the company has implemented a dedicated liquid cooling technology. This system can increase the Thermal Design Power (TDP) to 28 watts.
The tablet’s performance comes courtesy of its massive 12,800 mAh battery. The most striking feature is its software. It’s reported that the device will support over 13,000 Windows apps, in addition to HarmonyOS apps.
The tablet will also be able to run DirectX 11 games and professional software without requiring a cloud service. With this move, Huawei is bringing the PC experience to mobile devices, a first in the tablet market.
