In his statement, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır congratulated İMECE on its first year in space and also gave another piece of good news. Accordingly, the eagerly awaited TÜRKSAT 6A will also be launched into space on July 8, 2024. This news was interpreted as an important step for our country’s technological advancement. It is predicted that new projects will come rapidly.

İMECE, which can reach an altitude of approximately 700 km, can move at a speed of 27,000 km per hour. Moreover, it can capture a region with a width of 16 km and a length of 1000 km in a single frame. Producing highly successful images with sub-meter resolution, the satellite was designed by TÜBİTAK UZAY. With more than 60% domestic components, the vehicle can instantly transmit the images it captures to the station it is connected to at a data rate of 320 Mbps. It is expected that İMECE, which is utilized by many strategic state institutions, will achieve significant success in the future as well.
