Be careful: Instagram artificial intelligence can reveal your chats!

Ana sayfa / Social Media

Meta has introduced a new set of AI chatbots, including 28 chatbots with the participation of celebrities, for use on its platforms. Before confiding in artificial intelligence, here’s a little warning. Your secrets may be exposed all of a sudden. You could find yourself in the merciless realm of social media shaming because Instagram might expose your conversations. The reason behind this concern is that Meta has not implemented end-to-end encryption for these chatbots. Here are the details.

Instagram does not encrypt artificial intelligence chats!

Meta has introduced a new feature to its platforms, allowing users to chat with 28 artificial intelligence-supported chatbots, including celebrities, on Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. However, there’s an important consideration to keep in mind, especially for Instagram users: Think twice before confiding your secrets to artificial intelligence! When chatting with Instagram’s AI bots, like “Brian,” you should be aware that your messages may not be private.

Meta is typically attentive to data security and end-to-end encrypts personal conversations. However, Instagram doesn’t encrypt chat conversations with AI bots. You might find yourself exposed to the harsh culture of social media bullying in an instant.

An end to loneliness: Here are Meta’s new artificial intelligence chatbots!

Meta is putting an end to your loneliness. You can chat with AI chatbots for advice. Now, you can chat with celebrity robots

In the Instagram messages tab, there’s a feature that protects your messages from unwanted eyes, including Meta and the government. But when this feature is turned on, the option to initiate a chat with AI bots disappears.

Click on the “i” circle icon within the chat, and you’ll see the “Use end-to-end encryption” option in gray. Click on it, and a window pops up saying, “Some people can’t use end-to-end encryption yet.” This means you won’t have the option to chat with someone on Instagram using end-to-end encryption.

Unfortunately, this situation reflects one of the biggest privacy concerns related to the rise of productive artificial intelligence. As AI infiltrates applications, data security is jeopardized. Training AI models requires vast amounts of data, which is readily available on social media platforms.

Companies use this data not only for model training but also sell detailed user information to different entities. Meta, in particular, already has a bad reputation when it comes to personal data usage. What are your thoughts on this matter? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments.
