Instagram has made a development that will upset stalkers. Popular social media application Instagram has expanded its Close Friends feature. You will now be able to limit your posts to only your close friends. Previously, you could only share stories and notes with users in your close friends list. Instagram has brought its popular feature to a more useful version to increase interaction.
You will no longer have to share posts with your entire list of followers. Your Instagram feed may begin to fill with posts from a more close-knit community. If you see a green star next to your friends’ accounts, congratulations, you have been selected to the close friends list. You can also expand this green list to Reels videos. So the app can help you feel more special.
To restrict a post or video to only your close friends, you can follow these steps:
- First, select the Audience option that appears right before sharing the post.
- Select Close Friends > Done.
- Share your post as you normally would.
This way, only your close friends will see the photo or video you share. In addition, a green star icon will appear, indicating that it has just been shared with users on your list.
Instagram previously did not allow you to change the visibility of each post. You can now set your account to public or private only.
Facebook, another platform under the Meta umbrella, also uses this feature. Facebook has long allowed users to limit their posts to specific groups of people on your friends list.
