The Instagram platform, like other social networks, has a recommendation algorithm that can understand your tastes and suggest new content. Unfortunately, the platform does not always give accurate results by displaying unwanted suggestions without offering a reset option. But according to the latest information from the company, this situation will change very soon. Here are the details…
Meta announced: Instagram recommendation algorithm can be reset
Meta will allow users to reset their recommendation algorithms in the next few weeks. Users will soon have access to a new function to reset the recommendations that appear in the Feed, Explore, and Reels tabs.
With the new option, the suggestions function will be able to revert back to showing content based on new interactions, as if the account had just been created. The process will also allow the user to review the accounts they follow to prevent interference with future recommendations.
According to Meta, this new feature, although available to all users on the network, is part of a package of protections for young people regarding the proper use of Instagram, allowing them to better utilise their time on the platform.
According to the company, this new feature is expected to roll out globally in the near future and reach compatible platforms in the next few weeks.
