At CES 2025, Intel announced its next-generation AI-powered Arrow Lake AI chip lineup. This includes the Core Ultra 200H and Core Ultra 200HX chips designed specifically for gaming laptops. The new processors will make a name for themselves in terms of performance and efficiency.
What do Intel’s Arrow Lake AI chips for gaming laptops at CES 2025 offer?
The Core Ultra 200H family is a series optimized for thin and light performance notebooks. The top-of-the-line Core Ultra 9 285H processor offers 16 cores (6 performance, 8 efficient, 2 low power), 5.4GHz, 8 Intel Arc GPU cores, and enough graphics performance to run small games.
The Core Ultra 200HX family offers more cores and speed for more intense gaming and workloads. The Core Ultra 9 285HX is the most powerful model in the range and features 24 cores (8 performance, 16 efficient), 5.5GHz, 4 Intel GPU cores (though these chips are typically designed to be paired with discrete graphics cards from NVIDIA or AMD).
Intel announced that systems with new processors will be released in the first quarter of 2025. The Core Ultra 200S series of desktop processors will also be released in the same period. AMD made similar chip announcements at CES 2025. In fact, Intel is said to have made this announcement early to prevent AMD from drawing attention to itself.
