Intel unveiled its Core Ultra 285K processor yesterday, October 25th. But sales have been a little faster than expected. The new processor sold like hotcakes in both Japan and the US immediately after its unveiling. The flagship model of Intel’s new Arrow Lake-S series sold out as soon as it hit the market. The processor, which was the focus of criticism before its release, does not seem to have diminished the interest of users.
The Intel Core Ultra 285K processor, which was criticized for its performance, is out of stock!
First, let’s look at the situation in Japan. Stores like Tsukumo PC and Tsukumo eX in Tokyo offered the new processor as a bundle with the Intel Z890 motherboard. However, stocks were so limited that the product quickly disappeared from the shelves.
So much so that the stores were forced to make a statement and announced that they plan to restart the sale over the weekend with new stock. Things are a little more complicated on the US side. Major retailers like Newegg and Best Buy sold out of the Core Ultra 285K instantly.
It is still not listed on Amazon. Currently, the alternative for users who don’t want to wait for the 285K processor: Core Ultra 7 265K. This series is also an important option for desktop users. So why is the Core Ultra 285K in such high demand?
In fact, the Core Ultra 285K is slightly different from its competitors with its advanced hardware features such as 95 kWh battery and HW4 camera system. So it’s not surprising that it sold out so quickly.
