Intel’s new SoC can withstand extreme temperatures!

Ana sayfa / Processor

Intel has taken an important step that will make a sound in the processor world. Under the company’s latest decision, the maximum temperature value will increase in the next generation processor designs. Intel Arrow Lake and Panther Lake series will be able to withstand higher temperatures.

Intel has reportedly increased the maximum thermal junction temperature for its new processor designs. This means that the processors can withstand more work-intensive operations.

According to the leaks, Intel has made some adjustments to the chips codenamed Arrow Lake and Panther Lake. While the maximum temperature set for most Intel processors today is 100 degrees Celsius, it will rise to 105 degrees Celsius on these chips.

Intel has actually raised the TJMax rating of processors. For those who don’t know, this is the maximum temperature of the processor before enabling internal controls to mitigate rising temperatures. Increasing the temperature threshold can increase the operating capacity of these chips.

With this move, Intel will focus on thinner and lighter laptops. By sacrificing fans for light weight, manufacturers will be able to be more flexible about the maximum temperature. This will allow computers to run longer in heavy operations.

Of course, the higher operating temperature will also increase the temperature of the computer. This could lead to user discomfort. Still, this move means Intel can go up to 105 degrees Celsius in processor designs.
