The word “zombie” is never used throughout the series

The Walking Dead set was raided by SWAT
In the first season of The Walking Dead, Michael Rooker’s character Merle left a memorable first impression on viewers with his erratic behavior and racist remarks. Despite all that, he was still an entertaining character.
In the episode “Guts” (the second episode of the first season), Merle was seen firing a gun on a rooftop in Atlanta. Unaware that it was a shooting for the show, local residents mistook it for a real conflict and called the police. As a result, the SWAT team arrived on the set to handle the situation. It was revealed that Merle was using fake ammunition.
The show’s logo constantly decays
In each season of The Walking Dead, the opening credits and the show’s logo are presented in a progressively worn-out and decayed manner. In the 9th season, greenery was added to the logo, symbolizing the transformation, a new beginning, and the resurgence of nature in the storyline.
Shane was supposed to die
Shane, who played a crucial role in keeping Rick Grimes alive, was one of the most significant characters in the show. In the first season, he fiercely fought alongside Rick to protect the group. However, as they reached the second season and arrived at the farm, he started to clash with the group.
If the original script written by The Walking Dead’s creator, Frank Darabont, had been realized, Shane would have died in the first season, just as it happened in the comic book series on which the show is based. Norman Reedus initially auditioned for the role of Merle Dixon
Robert Kirkman, the author of The Walking Dead comic book series and one of the show’s creators, revealed in an interview that Norman Reedus originally auditioned for the role of Merle Dixon before portraying Daryl Dixon.
Reedus wasn’t initially cast as Merle, but he caught the attention of the producers, and as a result, the character of Daryl was specifically created for him. It turned out to be a wise decision as Daryl Dixon became one of the most beloved characters in the series.
Walkers went to zombie school
Before portraying walkers on The Walking Dead, the actors underwent training to learn how to move like zombies. During this training, they were instructed to move as if they were coming out of a bar at 2 AM.
The show’s executive producer stated that individuals interested in playing walkers needed to have large eyes, a tall stature, visible bone structure, and a lean physique.
Norman Reedus was bitten by a fan
Norman Reedus, who played the character of Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, was bitten on the chest by a fan during a fan convention. Despite being attacked by walkers numerous times on the show without being bitten, Reedus did not complain about the incident. However, he was permanently banned from attending fan events.
