Interesting warning from Apple! If you put iPhone in rice…

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

For years, smartphone users have used a bag of rice as a solution after accidentally dropping their devices in water. It was thought that throwing the submerged phone into the rice would draw out the moisture. But what did Apple say about this?

Technology experts have long questioned whether this rice solution is true. The last statement was made by Apple. In its latest warning, the tech giant said it is wrong to soak the iPhone in rice.

In a new support document, Apple tells customers to avoid soaking submerged iPhones in rice. This is because rice particles risk being drawn in with the moisture. This can damage internal components.

Instead of a rice solution, Apple recommends leaving the soaked iPhone to dry in a well-ventilated area. Tapping the phone lightly in your hand can also help remove any liquid that has gotten into the ports.

The company also recommends leaving it in a dry area for at least 30 minutes. If the device continues to get damp, you may need to increase the standby time to up to a day.

However, Apple said that external heat sources and compressed air should not be used. It also warned against inserting foreign objects such as cotton swabs into the ports. All these activities can lead to pushing water further inside.

While the iPhone and other smartphones today are water-resistant, not drying out the liquid can cause problems over time.
