Apple introduced the iOS 17 version during the WWDC 2023 event. While the company is working on the new version of iOS, they are also continuing their work on iOS 16. Finally, after making iOS 16.5 available to users, the company has now released the third beta version for iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6.
What will Apple offer with iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6?
Today, Apple has shared the third beta versions of iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 for public beta testers. The public beta versions for iOS and iPadOS are available just one day after the third beta version released for developers by Apple.
Those who have enrolled in Apple’s free beta testing program can check for the new beta update by going to Settings and selecting Software Update on their phones and tablets. By tapping on Beta Updates and enabling the iOS 16 General Beta option, they can activate the third beta version.
While iOS 16.6 appears to be a relatively small update, it seems that Apple is preparing the ground for the launch of the previously announced iMessage Communication Key Verification feature with this release. Afterwards, the focus will shift more towards iOS 17.
As Apple prepares for the September launch of iOS 17, we will see a slowdown in improvements on iOS 16. The company is also preparing to start a new beta version of watchOS 9.6 for public beta testers. This will allow Apple Watch users to update their smartwatches in the near future.
As the introduction of iOS 17 is approaching, it is expected that iOS 16.6 will be made available to the general public soon. What are your thoughts on the iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 beta version? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
