Apple is working on the upcoming mobile operating system, iOS 17. While we are a few months away from the expected launch, rumors and claims are revealed about the iOS 17. A few days ago, some leakers claimed that the new system would drop support for older devices, including iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X, first-generation 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and fifth-generation iPad. However, a reputable leaker changed this claim. Here are the details about iOS 17-supported devices…

iOS 17 will support all compatible devices with iOS 16

Rumors about the upcoming operating system emerge almost every day. The latest rumor comes from the same leaker that last year revealed the Dynamic Island on iPhone 14 Pro models ahead of their official launch. Now, they claim that iOS 17 will support all the devices that are compatible with the previous update, iOS 16.

According to the leaker, Apple will make the upcoming update available on all iPhones that support iOS 16, including all devices powered by A11 chipsets. It means that the update will be available on the iPhone X and iPhone 8/8 Plus models.

They also claimed that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models will have a new ultra-low energy chip, which enables the new volume, power, and “Action” solid-state buttons. Additionally, iOS 17 will include a new sensitivity setting for the expected action buttons.

iOS 17: What to expect and release date

While the rumors are saying that the upcoming operating system update will have limited new features. There will be some key features, such as Sideloading in Europe, AR/VR Headset integration, and CarPlay Updates.

On June 5, Apple is expected to announce the first beta of iOS 17. However, the upcoming OS will likely launch at WWDC in September.
