Apple has taken the rare step of testing iOS 18 and iOS 18.1 at the same time. iOS 18.1 is only available for iPhone 15 Pro users and offers Apple Intelligence features. Apple has further improved Apple Intelligence by releasing iOS 18.1 Beta 3. Here are the improvements and innovations…
Apple releases iOS 18.1 Beta 3: Apple Intelligence improvements and more
In the previous beta, Apple added a feature known as the “ Thanos snap feature ”, which is actually called “ Distraction Control ” . This feature, which is available in the Reader option in Safari, allows you to hide distracting elements like cookie warnings. Apple states that it is not an ad blocker and that it helps to hide distracting elements on the page.
Based on user feedback, Apple has removed the Carousel feature in the Photos app and reorganized the “All Photos” section to show more images in the photo grid. It has also added “ Recently Saved ” to the “ Recent Days” tab.
Other Apple Intelligence improvements coming with iOS 18.1 Beta 3 include:
- Writing tools: Provide the ability to rewrite, edit, and summarize text virtually anywhere you write, including Mail, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps.
- Improved Siri: With a new design, Siri can maintain context between requests. Even if you mix up words in a sentence, Siri can understand what you mean.
- Prioritized Notifications: Appear at the top of the notification stack, allowing you to quickly understand what needs your attention. Notifications are also summarized to make them quicker to scan.
- Prioritize messages in Mail: Time-sensitive messages will appear at the top of your inbox, drawing attention to an invitation that expires today or a flight check-in reminder, for example.
- Reduce interruptions: The all-new Focus Mode, available in iOS 18.1 Beta 1, understands the context of your notifications and highlights the ones that need your immediate attention.
- Email summarization: In the Mail app, you can see a summary of a long email with just one tap, so you can quickly access the most important information.
- Record and transcribe calls in Notes: You can create audio recordings and transcripts by tapping record in Notes or the Phone app. Apple Intelligence creates summaries of these transcripts so you can quickly access the most important information.
- Smart Reply in Mail: Quickly draft email replies. Apple Intelligence detects the question you’re asked in an email and offers relevant options to add to your reply.
