Mark Gurman: iOS 18.2 could bring new AI to Apple Intelligence
After Apple released the first developer version of iOS 18.2 last Friday, it seems that many innovations will come, especially for Apple Intelligence. As Mark Gurman previously stated, Apple is expected to launch some features of Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.1 and make a big leap in Apple Intelligence with iOS 18.2. According to the first developer version of iOS 18.2, Image Playground, Image Wand, ChatGPT supported Siri, Visual Intelligence, Writing Tools features are available.
At the same time, with iOS 18.2, Apple Intelligence is expected to be available in English-speaking countries such as the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa. Users whose native language is in other countries can use Apple Intelligence by switching countries and languages. In recent months, it has been leaked that Apple has been talking to Google and several artificial intelligence companies about Apple Intelligence. At the time, analysts, including Mark Gurman, said that Apple Intelligence would include many artificial intelligences. Gurman, on the other hand, renewed what he said recently, saying that Apple will come with new artificial intelligences with iOS 18.2 and that the user can choose the artificial intelligence they want to use with Siri. In addition, according to Gurman, one of the new intelligences that will come with iOS 18.2 is very likely to be Google Gemini.
The full version of iOS 18.2 is expected to come to all iOS 18 supported phones in December. Apple Intelligence, which will start coming to Apple devices with iOS 18.1, will come to iPhone 15 Pro and higher iPhones, new iPad Mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro with M1 chip or higher, and Macs with M1 chip or higher. Apple devices that are not on this list but are compatible with iOS 18 will receive innovations other than artificial intelligence.
