iOS 18.6 Released
The iOS 18.6 update can be downloaded via iPhone settings by selecting “General” and then “Software Update.” The update may not appear immediately to everyone, so users should check back periodically. The build number for the update is 22G86.
Among the changes to the system is an issue that prevented some users from sharing their memories in the Photos app. This issue has been fixed. Additionally, according to Apple’s statement, various security vulnerabilities have been addressed and the system’s overall stability has been improved.
According to information shared on the company’s website, but not included in Apple’s official announcements, significant updates have been made to the App Store experience for users in the European Union. As part of these updates, users can now install alternative app stores through developer websites.
Similarly, the process for installing apps directly from developer websites has also been redesigned. These changes are part of technical adjustments aimed at establishing a more open and competitive mobile app ecosystem, in line with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) that has entered into force in Europe.
Apple will share more details about the security patches included in iOS 18.6 on its official website in the coming days.
