Apple has re-released the iOS / iPadOS 18 Beta 4 update for developers, upgrading the version number from 22A5316j to 22A5316k. The differences between the two Beta 4 versions are not yet clear, but developers have started receiving the new update.
iOS / iPadOS 18 Beta 4 Update Re-Released: Version Number Upgraded to 22A5316k
If you are a registered developer, open the “Settings” app, go to the “Software Update” section, and click on “Beta Updates.” Then select the iOS 18 / iPadOS 18 developer beta settings. Of course, you need to have an Apple ID linked to your developer account to perform this action.
What’s New in iOS / iPadOS 18 Beta 4 Update:
CarPlay Wallpapers: Apple has added two types of wallpapers, light and dark mode, similar to iPhone for CarPlay.
Settings: Accessing iCloud settings is now much easier. You can find the iCloud option alongside App Store, Game Center, and Wallet.
Camera Control: There is a new “Control Menu” under “Preserve Settings” in the camera settings. This feature remembers the previous camera tools used in the camera app.
Hidden Folder: The design of the hidden folder in the app library has changed. Instead of an eye icon, there is now an empty app box, making it less noticeable.
Dark/Light Mode Icon: When you enable the “Automatic” setting, the icons sync with the iPhone’s system color settings. So, if you are working in dark mode, the icons will also be in dark mode.
Stocks Icon: The Stocks app icon has been redesigned. The lines are softer, and there is no longer a white mist at the bottom of the icon.
iPhone Mirroring: Although this feature is actually for macOS 15 Sequoia, it is worth mentioning. When using iPhone mirroring in macOS Sequoia Beta 4, you can change the size of the iPhone window on the Mac screen.
Control Center: A new Bluetooth toggle has been added to the Control Center but is not yet functional. Silent mode/silent switch and accessibility mirror options have also been added. Additionally, the “Open Music Control Center” option has been removed in the iOS 18 Beta 4 update.
AssistiveTouch: Write to Siri and Apple Watch mirroring options have been added to AssistiveTouch.
Apple Intelligence: Apple has referenced this feature multiple times in the code, indicating that more Apple Intelligence features are on the way. This means smarter features await us in the future.
