Apple has released iOS 26.2 beta 3, the highly anticipated next software update for iPhone users. This preview release introduces a number of innovations and improvements that will significantly change cross-device interaction and the user experience. One of the most significant innovations introduced in iOS 26.2 Beta 3 is AirDrop codes. This feature allows you to share files via AirDrop for 30 days, even with someone not yet listed in your contacts. Users can securely perform this transfer by generating a single-use code from the AirDrop section of the Settings app.
Another major potential change coming with the update is support for third-party voice assistants that can replace Siri. Users in Japan, in particular, will be given the option to assign an external voice-based assistant, such as Google Gemini, to Siri by holding down the iPhone’s side button.
