Apple is nearing the end of its developer beta cycle, and the anticipated iOS 26.2 RC version has been released for testing. The company has also shared pre-final releases (Release Candidates) for the mobile operating system, as well as iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, visionOS, and macOS Tahoe.
iOS 26.2 RC build numbers revealed
Following the third developer beta, these RC builds are the final stop before the general availability. The build number for iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2 is 23C52. On other platforms, watchOS 26.2 (23S303), tvOS 26.2 (23K51), and macOS Tahoe (25C56) are prominent. Apple also made sure to release iOS 18.7.3 for older devices.
This update cycle includes significant changes to the user interface. A slider that adjusts the clarity of the Lock Screen interface was added to the system with the first beta. The Apple News app: New buttons were added for categories like Food, Politics, Puzzles, and Sports. Podcasts gained automatic chaptering and linking features.
The Liquid Glass interface was fine-tuned in the later stages of the beta, while Games and CarPlay were updated. One of the most notable features was the 30-day access codes for AirDrop, which appeared in the third beta. Codes that allow users in Japan to use the side button to call third-party assistants were also detected in the system.
