Apple continues to work on updates and devices as September approaches. While the iPhone 17 series is eagerly awaited, iOS 26 is also planned to be announced at the same event. The latest update released by the tech giant is the seventh developer beta of iOS 26. Here are the details.
iOS 26 Developer Beta 7 Release
iOS 26, eagerly awaited by Apple fans, is gaining more and more innovations every day. The update, which has been available in beta for a long time, has been released today as Developer Beta 7. The powerful Apple Intelligence capabilities, new communication channels, and more expected in iOS 26 are being developed in the beta.
Previous beta releases showcased various changes to the software:
- iOS 26 beta 2 featured better readability for the Control Center, improvements to the menu layout in Safari, and more robust accessibility options with added borders for High Contrast Mode.
- iOS 26 beta 3 added a matte finish to some transparent tab bars and introduced new wallpaper colors. iOS 26 beta 4 reverted the opacity changes. It also reintroduced notification summaries for news and entertainment apps. This feature was previously discontinued following complaints that text summaries could change the meaning of headlines.
- iOS 26 beta 5 brought back the “Select” button in the Mail app, added an option to revert to the classic Camera mode swipe direction, and introduced many improvements based on user feedback.
- iOS 26 beta 6 removed the Camera swipe direction option and added faster animations and new ringtones.
The update released today appears to be iOS 26 open beta 3. The iOS 26 update will be available for the iPhone SE (2nd generation), iPhone 11, and later models. iOS 18 will be the last version to work on the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. You’ll need to upgrade your iPhone to get the latest features and new design, but older models will continue to receive security updates for a while.
To use Apple Intelligence features, you need to have an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or any iPhone 16 family model.
