With the iOS 26 update, Apple has removed a limitation that users have long criticized in the alarm application of iPhones. Currently, the alarm snooze period is set to 9 minutes by default on devices with iOS 18, and there is no option to change this period. This limitation has been eliminated with iOS 26.
iOS 26 offers the expected alarm feature
With the new version, users can freely determine the snooze period between 1 and 15 minutes for each alarm they set. The default setting remains 9 minutes, but this setting can be easily changed from the alarm add screen. When setting a new alarm in the Clock application, the desired period can be selected after the “Snooze” option is activated.
Another innovation that comes with iOS 26 is the design update made to the alarm screen. The “Snooze” and “Stop” buttons presented to the user when the alarm goes off are now larger and more easily accessible. This design change aims to make taps made especially during sleepy moments more accurate.
The first developer version of iOS 26 was released by Apple after the WWDC 2025 event. On June 13, a revised version was released, fixing some bugs found in the first beta. The public beta version of iOS 26 will be released in July. The final version will reach users in mid-September along with the iPhone 17 series.
