Apple has finally rolled out the iOS 17.2 update. The update brings some of the advanced camera features introduced at the iPhone 15 launch. iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will now support spatial video recording.

With the release of iOS 17.2, the iPhone 15 Pro series will feature spatial video. With this support, iPhones will switch to a new format that captures 3D depth information. The feature will allow both wide and ultra-wide cameras to be used at the same time.

With spatial video, it will be possible to combine the wide field of view of the ultra-wide camera into a single video. You can share these videos on apps like WhatsApp and watch them like standard 2D videos. However, the width of the captured area will be considerably larger.

Wi-Fi 7 release date announced

The release date of Wi-Fi 7, which multiplies Wi-Fi 6 by 4 in speed, is officially announced. Let's take a look at the details together.

Apple said that spatial videos will “come to life” on Vision Pro. It will be possible to watch these videos in their true form on mixed reality glasses. This will allow users to enjoy the images they capture with their iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max in 3D.

Apple Senior Vice President Greg Joswiak said the new format will have a “magical” effect. It will also offer the best video quality for any smartphone so far. Joswiak said that this feature will allow users to capture “special moments in their truest form”.

The spatial video format will be shot in 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second with HEVC compression to keep file sizes small. iPhone 15 Pro users can start testing this feature by installing the iOS 17.2 update.
