There’s about 2 weeks left until the unveiling of the iPhone 15 family, and excitement is at its peak for everyone. During this period, as every year, analyst opinions, claims, and leaks about the new iPhones continue to emerge. According to an Apple analyst, it is now evident which iPhone model will be the most popular.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the best-selling model
The renowned Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will account for 35% to 40% of shipments in the iPhone 15 series. This means that Apple is focusing on its most expensive model in this series.
The projected shipments for the iPhone 15 Pro Max by the end of the year have also increased by around 10% compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max during the same period. Kuo stated, “This shows that Apple believes the sales will be influenced by the periscope lens unique to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.”
iPhone 15 comes with new color options!
The iPhone 15 Pro Max model will be the only one equipped with the new periscope lens that significantly enhances the optical zoom range of the camera. Other smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra already have this technology, so this feature has long been requested by some iPhone users, especially professional photographers.
The exact reason why Apple decided to keep the periscope lens exclusive to the model with a rumored price increase of up to $200 this year is not entirely known. The analyst mentions that the unit price of a periscope lens is often four times more expensive than that of a regular lens, which could be one of the reasons.
Additionally, Kuo confirmed the rumors that the periscope lens will be featured in the smaller iPhone 16 Pro model next year. So, it will be available not only in the 16 Pro Max but also in the 16 Pro.
Regarding the iPhone 15 Pro Max, some earlier reports suggested that the mass production could be delayed due to supply issues. However, it seems that Apple has addressed the situation, and this week it’s observed that bulk shipments of all new iPhones will commence. The company is expected to ship around 80 million iPhone 15 units by the end of the year and 250 million units throughout 2024.
It’s said that the entire series will feature slightly rounded edges, a USB-C port, and a new design with Dynamic Wallpaper for each model. The 15 Pro models will have a slimmer bezel on a new display, a faster A17 chip, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max model will feature a periscope lens.
