Information continues to come for the iPhone 15 series to be launched in September 2023. New information has come to the agenda for the iPhone 15 family, which will consist of four different models with the names 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max or, more likely, 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Ultra. According to solid sources, Qualcomm-signed 5G modem units will be used in the new family.
Apple is currently developing an in-house 5G modem
Previously, some sources claimed that Apple would use Apple’s own 5G model in the iPhone 15 series. However, this is not the case at the last stage because the company is still continuing its development work on this issue. The company recently bought most of Intel’s unit that produces modems for smartphones for 1 billion dollars. As a result of this move, more than 2 thousand Intel employees and other divisional assets were transferred to Apple. The studies on this side will bring the company independence on the 5G side as well as on the processor. But it will have to wait for 2024.
The iPhone 15 series was last on the agenda with a focus on the camera side. It’s not yet clear which models will be specific, but the back of the phones will use a newly developed Sony camera sensor. This sensor is described as “state-of-the-art”. This camera sensor seems to be more exclusive to Pro and Ultra. It is said to double the color saturation signal in each pixel compared to standard sensors.
In this way, the sensor is said to capture more light and also reduce underexposure and overexposure problems. The sensor will become more technically detailed later. The sensor will also basically improve low-light performance and offer more balanced results than ever before. In this way, shadows will not remain dark and there will be no explosion in bright areas.
According to Nikkei, which brought this information to the agenda, thanks to the sensor, portrait photos can be taken even in bad backlight situations, where people’s faces are properly illuminated.
