Apple typically holds its iPhone launch events on Tuesdays, but this year, the iPhone was announced on a Monday, suggesting the company chose that date because the US presidential debate is scheduled for September 10. Apple typically opens pre-orders for its phones on the first Friday of the launch week, but this year that process may have been moved up a day.
If pre-orders start on September 12, the phones could also be released on September 19, but that’s just speculation. There have been plenty of signs this year that Apple’s plans could be off the table.
Apple recently began training its sales staff on Apple Intelligence features amid concerns about declining iPhone sales, and these features are expected to be a key part of its sales arguments in stores.
Apple is also scheduled to hold a mandatory meeting for its retail staff on the evening of September 12 or the morning of September 13, a different schedule than the meetings normally held on Sundays.
