Apple has once again managed to come out on top with its new flagship iPhone 16 Pro Max. In the latest DxOMark selfie tests, the iPhone 16 Pro Max took the top spot with 151 points. Sharing the top spot with Honor Magic 6 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max beat Google’s new Pixel 9 Pro XL. However, all is not rosy, Apple’s new device still has some room for improvement. Here are the details

In DxOMark tests, the front camera of the iPhone 16 Pro Max has garnered a lot of praise. First of all, thanks to its wide dynamic range and accurate exposure, photos and videos look very good quality. In particular, faces stand out clearly and evenly, even in variable light conditions.
Autofocus is also very good. It can focus quickly while shooting and has a wide range of depth perception. In other words, it allows you to get clear images even when shooting from close and far distances.
However, not everything is perfect. According to DxOMark’s report, the noise level in iPhone 16 Pro Max selfie photos and videos is slightly higher than its rival Honor Magic 6 Pro. The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL also outperforms the iPhone 16 Pro Max in noise management.
This difference is especially evident in low-light conditions. So, even if Apple’s new flagship takes your photos in high detail, sometimes those photos may have a bit more noise. Another small but noticeable shortcoming is in video capture.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max can sometimes produce sharpness differences between frames when you’re on the move. This problem was also present on the previous model, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and has not been fully resolved. So when you’re making fast movements in videos, you may sometimes experience sharpness fluctuations in the image.
