iPhone 17 Pro Max to Feature a Smaller Dynamic Island
Rumor has it that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be launched with a slightly smaller Dynamic Island compared to previous Apple models. This information comes from analyst Jeff Pu, who explains that changes in Face ID technology have made this adjustment possible.
According to reports, Apple plans to incorporate “metalens” technology, resulting in a smaller Dynamic Island. However, this change will be exclusive to Apple’s highest-end device, meaning the iPhone 17 Pro and other models in the series won’t include this update.
Apple first introduced Dynamic Island with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models. This intriguing feature uses curved lenses to redirect light through the image sensor. “Metalenses,” known for their microscopic patterns that enable more precise light focusing, are thinner and flatter than traditional lenses.
Pu did not specify how Apple would incorporate this component into the next flagship or detail how it would reduce the size of Dynamic Island on the new model.
Lastly, previous reports suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro Max may come with increased RAM capacity and a 48 MP telephoto camera upgrade.
