Rumors about the camera of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which will be released in 2025, have already started to emerge. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max were reported to have a 1/3.1-inch 12 MP unit with a periscope zoom camera.
In the model to be released in 2025, it will exceed these limits with a 48 MP camera with a 1/2.6-inch sensor size. Additionally, the sensor will be 19% larger. When the tetraprism camera is activated, it will offer high-quality image and video recording capabilities. The iPhone 17 model will be Apple’s first flagship to support a maximum 48 MP resolution for its rear sensors.
Crystal-Optech, Apple’s main prism lens supplier, will make a significant profit with the addition of tetraprism cameras in Apple’s upcoming models. However, many investors are concerned that Cupertino may opt for plastic prism lenses instead of glass to reduce costs. Following the rumors, Apple denied these rumors by stating that it will continue to use glass prisms for the next few years.
