A YouTuber subjected Apple’s newest flagship phone to an interesting test. The iPhone 17 Pro Max water-cooling modification significantly improved the device’s AnTuTu performance. The RedMagic 11 Pro+’s cooling system was used for this process.
iPhone 17 Pro Max water-cooling test results
YouTuber Kingmi Mobile shared a video comparing a standard iPhone 17 Pro Max with the water-cooled version. Before any modifications, the standard phone’s total AnTuTu score was measured at 2,456,045.
However, after the water-cooling components were removed from the RedMagic 11 Pro+ and installed on the phone, the score rose to 2,652,045 in the test. This represents a performance increase of approximately 8%.
Another interesting result from the test was seen on the RedMagic 11 Pro+. The device, which scored 4,144,376 points before the cooling system was removed, achieved 4,124,867 points after it was removed. The performance loss was less than 1%, proving that the modification had a more significant impact on Apple devices.
In fact, Apple first introduced a vapor chamber cooling system for the A19 Pro chip with the iPhone 17 Pro models. According to iFixit’s analysis, this official system already prevented slowdowns by keeping the device’s temperature at 34.8 degrees Celsius.
Apple’s system works by boiling water next to the A19 Pro chip and turning it into vapor. The vapor cools on the other side of the chamber, condenses into droplets, and is then released back through a mesh structure. The YouTuber’s modification supplements this internal system with external liquid cooling.
