Apple’s new-generation flagship iPhone 17 series will be introduced in September 2025. Leaked information shows that extensive design and hardware changes will be made, especially in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models.
The iPhone 17 Pro series will be coming out
Hardware leaps such as the A19 Pro chip, 48 MP telephoto camera, 24 MP front camera and 8K video recording are among the prominent headlines. Apple is also preparing to offer a model equipped with a new aluminum and glass chassis structure, Sky Blue color option and Wi-Fi 7 support.
The new models will feature Apple’s A19 Pro processor. This processor was developed with TSMC’s third-generation 3-nanometer production process and offers improvements over its predecessor, the A18, in terms of both energy efficiency and performance. The RAM capacity of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max is increased to 12 GB.
On the camera side, one of the biggest upgrades Apple has offered to the iPhone so far draws attention. All lenses in the rear camera system now have a resolution of 48 MP. This makes 8K video recording possible.
The resolution of the new telephoto lens is also increased from 12 MP to 48 MP, but the optical zoom ratio is reduced from 5x to 3.5x. Apple is expected to compensate for this difference with digital processing. The front camera is also increased to 24 MP resolution, and the dual-direction recording feature, which allows video recording from the front and rear cameras at the same time, is included in the system.
Another notable change in the design is that Apple has abandoned titanium and returned to an aluminum frame. The rear surface will have a half-glass, half-aluminum structure. This change reduces the weight of the device and allows features such as wireless charging to be preserved.
The camera module is also changing from a square form to a rectangular structure placed horizontally. The placement of the lenses will remain in a triangular pattern. However, it is not yet known how this new arrangement will affect features such as spatial video.
On the screen side, the iPhone 17 Pro models maintain the adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The possibility of a narrowing of the Dynamic Island area is on the agenda, but no definitive statement has been made on this subject. The cooling system in the iPhone 17 Pro series is also being redesigned. In the new models, heat dissipation has been improved by using a vapor chamber structure.
The body thickness increases slightly in models with increased battery capacity. The iPhone 17 Pro series can charge devices such as AirPods and Apple Watch with its 7.5W reverse wireless charging feature. In addition, the Qi 2.2 standard is supported. On the wired charging side, a maximum of 35W support will be maintained.
On the connection side, Apple’s first Wi-Fi 7 chip will be included in all models. This chip will provide a faster and more stable internet connection. The iPhone 17 Pro models will feature Qualcomm’s latest 5G modems, but Apple is preparing to change this area with its own design in the coming years.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, which will come in a new Sky Blue color option, could bring a new breath to Apple’s iPhone color palette. So what do you think about this device? You can share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
