Apple’s new iPhone 17 series has received complaints from users about Wi-Fi issues. Issues reported on Apple support forums indicate that the devices are intermittently disconnecting from the internet. This is a common occurrence across all models.
Wi-Fi issues have surfaced on the iPhone 17 series
Users report being able to reconnect to the internet after unlocking their phones. The Wi-Fi-based Apple CarPlay system is also reportedly affected by these disconnections. Some users report that the issue occurs specifically when wearing a paired and unlocked Apple Watch. However, it’s unclear whether this is always the cause.
The iPhone 17 series uses Apple’s first proprietary N1 chip for wireless connectivity. This chip supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. Previous iPhone models used Broadcom chips for wireless connectivity.
Apple is known to typically address these issues with a software update. The iOS 26.0.1 update is expected to be released soon, but it remains unclear whether this issue will be resolved with the new update.
This Wi-Fi issue is thought to be related to Apple’s decision to use its own N1 chip instead of the Broadcom chips used in previous models. The newness of the chip may have caused some incompatibilities in software-hardware integration. What are your thoughts on this? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
