Apple is internally testing two new color options for the iPhone 17 series: purple and green. For now, only one of these colors will be included in the final model. It is stated that purple stood out during the testing process.
The iPhone 17 series comes with new color options
This experiment that the company carried out on the standard model is considered a step towards increasing the variety of colors in the product range. On the other hand, Apple is also working on a different color called Sky Blue for the iPhone 17 Pro model.
Apart from the color options, the most striking innovation expected in the series is on the screen side. According to another report published at the beginning of this month, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air models are equipped with screens with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Thus, Apple is bringing the high refresh rate to the standard models for the first time. In contrast, it was stated that the dynamic screen refresh technology called ProMotion will be limited to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models only.
These updates to be made in terms of hardware and design show that Apple will continue its product segmentation strategy. The company does not aim to increase user interest or attract attention with visual differences in its internal tests on new models. Whether the color options will make it into the final version will become clear in the later stages of the development process.
