Apple continues its efforts to maintain its leadership in the smartphone market at full speed. The first concrete details about the highly anticipated iPhone 18 features have already begun to emerge. Recent reports from industry sources indicate that Apple will make revolutionary changes, particularly in the processor and camera, in this new series, which will be introduced in 2026.
iPhone 18 Features and Hardware Details
The most striking aspect of the new series will undoubtedly be its processor power. Apple will use A20 chipsets featuring 2nm technology manufactured by TSMC in the iPhone 18 family. This new architecture will significantly increase the phones’ performance and maximize energy efficiency. Furthermore, thanks to the newly developed packaging method (WMCM), data transfer between the memory and processor will be much faster. This will provide a significant advantage, especially for users in artificial intelligence (AI) tasks.

Exciting innovations await users on the camera front. According to leaks, Apple will switch to variable aperture technology developed by Samsung for the main camera. This feature will allow users to adjust the lens aperture according to lighting conditions and achieve professional-quality depth of field (bokeh). However, it’s rumored that the front camera design on the Pro models may change, with the Face ID sensors hidden under the display, leaving only a small camera hole.
In terms of design, Apple plans to maintain the current aesthetic while making subtle changes. However, the chassis of the devices may be slightly thicker to accommodate a larger battery and an improved cooling system (vapor chamber). This change will greatly please users who have been complaining about battery life. It’s also been reported that the rear glass panel could be slightly transparent, giving the device a futuristic look. On the connectivity front, we may see Apple’s in-house C2 5G modem, which supports mmWave, for the first time in this series.
According to Apple’s traditional schedule, the iPhone 18 series will be unveiled in September 2026. Pricing is not yet definitive. However, considering the new 2nm chip production costs and hardware upgrades, the Pro models are likely to start at $1,099 or slightly higher. The standard models are expected to maintain their current pricing.
