Apple, with its ecosystem created among its devices, is one of the largest players in the technology world. A recent study revealed how loyal iPhone users are to Apple. According to the study, 94% of iPhone owners prefer to buy another iPhone when upgrading to a new device.
92% of iPhone users choose another iPhone for their new phone
Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) has found that iPhone users exhibit a higher level of brand loyalty compared to Android users. The research indicates that in the last decade, there has been an increasing tendency for Android users to switch to iPhones due to reasons such as battery life and connectivity issues.
The CIRP study shows that 91% of Android users and 94% of iOS users remain on the same operating system. However, it is important to note that there are multiple brands within the Android ecosystem, and users may have switched to a different manufacturer.
Furthermore, the research highlights how iOS and Android attract users from each other as competing operating systems. Apple appears to be more successful in converting Android users to iPhones, while Android manufacturers struggle to attract iOS users.
For example, approximately 14% of users who purchased a new iPhone this year were previously using Android. In contrast, only 4% of those who bought a new Android device switched from an iPhone.
There are several reasons behind users switching to iPhones, with security concerns being one of the primary factors. For instance, recently, malicious software that stole credit card information was detected in 193 Android applications.
