There are a lot of rumors out there about Apple‘s budget phone iPhone SE 2024. A few months ago, the famous Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the tech giant had given up on the phone. However, it seems things have changed, and the phone is in the pipeline again, Kuo says. Besides, he revealed some of the upcoming SE model’s specifications.
iPhone SE 2024 might equip with OLED display and 5G chip
Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the iPhone SE 2024 will be similar to the iPhone 14. As known, the previous SE model featured a 4.7-inch LCD screen, and at this point, the upcoming handset will equip with a bigger 6.1-inch OLED display with a notch. Since the screen size of the iPhone SE series is the most criticized point, the most significant change in the new model will be in this line.
Kuo also claims that the handset will be launched with Apple’s 5G baseband chip. Nothing official, but the device might support sub-6GHz 5G networks. Meanwhile, this info matches what Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon talked about Apple’s 5G chip in a recent The Wall Street Journal interview. If this claim is true, after 2024, the collaboration between Apple and Qualcomm will weaken.
Here’s the statement of the Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon:
”We expect that Apple will do their own modem in 2024, but if they need ours they know where to find us.”
