Apple is gearing up for the budget-friendly iPhone SE 4. Renderings of the smartphone, which is expected to be released in early 2025, have leaked online. The fourth version of the SE series will finally offer Face ID support. But how is its design?
iPhone SE 4 CAD images leaked
CAD images that surfaced in India show that the iPhone SE 4 will be similar to the iPhone 14 series. In this context, Apple is likely to abandon the current 4.7-inch display. The new SE will have a notch to accommodate Face ID sensors and will come with a larger 6.1-inch display.
This will be the first time Apple’s advanced facial recognition system will be carried over to an affordable iPhone model. iPhone SE 4 is expected to measure approximately 147.7 x 71.5 x 7.7 mm.
The images show Apple’s simplified single-camera design instead of the iPhone SE’s multi-lens camera bump. It’s also notable that the port is USB-C instead of Lightning, in line with the latest EU regulations.
The device is believed to offer a single 48 Megapixel rear camera. It is also rumored that the new iPhone SE model will come with an OLED display instead of an LCD panel. In addition, the device will have Face ID instead of Touch ID, a first in the SE series.
The CAD images show the clearest version of the iPhone SE 4 design so far. Still, it’s important to keep in mind that Apple’s plans may change a year from now.
