New information about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series, expected to launch next year, continues to surface. As you may recall, the Edge and Ultra models recently appeared in the GSMA IMEI database. The latest developments reveal a promising detail regarding the series’ RAM capacity.
RAM Capacity to Increase in the Galaxy S26 Series
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 lineup may feature a significant performance upgrade. According to a new report, all models in the series are expected to launch with 16 GB of RAM as standard. If true, this would mean double the memory found in iPhones.
As known, in the Galaxy S25 series, only the Ultra model in select Asian markets (such as South Korea and China) was equipped with 16 GB of RAM, while other models were limited to 12 GB. However, this is likely to change next year, with 16 GB becoming the standard across the board.
Given the increasing memory demands driven by the rapid advancement of AI technologies, Samsung’s decision to boost RAM capacities makes sense. In fact, some of its Chinese rivals have already released smartphones featuring up to 24 GB of RAM.
Of course, all of this remains speculation for now. Until Samsung makes an official announcement, it’s wise to approach these details with caution. There are also rumors suggesting that the 16 GB RAM standard might apply only to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. In short, we’ll have to wait for the official launch to get the full picture.
