Developed by Elta Systems, this radar rapidly detects and tracks incoming threats. The EL/M-2084 model radar has the capability to detect multiple threats simultaneously and quickly provide data to the BMC.
Battle Management and Weapon Control (BMC)
Developed by the Israeli software company mPrest Systems, this system analyzes radar data and calculates the probable point of impact for the rocket. If the rocket is perceived as a threat, the BMC orders the missile firing unit to launch.
Missile Firing Unit
Equipped with electro-optic sensors, this unit launches Tamir missiles to intercept threats in the air. The missiles have high maneuverability and demonstrate a high success rate in guiding towards the target.

Each missile of Iron Dome costs approximately $50,000. The unit production cost, including the launcher system, is around $50 million per unit. To give an idea of its affordability, let’s note that while a single missile of the U.S.-made Patriot system costs $4 million, the unit sales price of the entire system is $1 billion.
