It seems that the popular music streaming platform Spotify is also affected by the global inflation. With millions of users and high-quality content, Spotify is reportedly working on a new subscription plan. Still in its early stages, this subscription plan is expected to be much more expensive than the current ones. Here are the details of the new Deluxe subscription plan that Spotify might announce.
Spotify Deluxe Subscription to Cost Around $17 or $18
Yesterday, Spotify announced its second-quarter earnings and subscriber numbers, revealing that it reached 246 million paid subscribers in 2024, marking a growth of about 12% compared to the previous year. Additionally, the company’s shares rose by 14% on Tuesday, and Spotify announced that it is working on a more expensive subscription plan. Although there had been previous hints of a higher-quality and pricier plan, the latest announcement was made by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek.
Compared to the normal Spotify subscription plan, the Spotify Deluxe is expected to offer more control, higher audio quality, and more advanced features. According to the announcements, it will be priced around $17 or $18. However, due to currency differences, the prices in some countries might be more affordable compared to others.
For instance, in the US, the prices for Spotify subscriptions are $11.99 for Individual, $16.99 for Duo, $19.99 for Family, and $5.99 for Student, while in Turkey, the prices are 59.99 TL, 79.99 TL, 99.99 TL, and 32.99 TL, respectively. If we consider the nearly 80% price difference, the Deluxe package could be priced around 99 TL in Turkey.
It’s important to note that the new subscription plan is still in the early stages, and Spotify has yet to finalize its development. What do you think about the new Spotify subscription plan? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
