HMD Global, the licensee of Nokia smartphones, has been producing phones under its own brand for some time. New devices called HMD will replace Nokia. In this context, the company had been in the process of rebranding for a while. So what will be the future of Nokia Mobile?
Nokia Mobile is gone, HMD Technology is here
HMD Global has launched an official account on Chinese social media platform Weibo, bringing the Nokia Mobile branding back to the fore. The new Weibo account, called HMD Technology, will not carry the previous Nokia brand. In this context, the company will emphasize its own name.
HMD’s first device targeting China appears to be the Nokia X series flagship Skyline. HMD Technology’s account prominently features the Skyline. Skyline, which was announced last July with a price of $499, will soon expand to the Asian market.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chipset, HMD Skyline comes with a 6.5-inch 144Hz FHD+ OLED display with 1000 nits peak brightness. It also offers up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The device features a triple rear camera setup; 108 Megapixel main, 50 Megapixel telephoto and 13 Megapixel ultra-wide sensor. There is also a 50 Megapixel selfie camera on the front. Let us remind you that it is powered by a 4600mAh battery with 15W Qi wireless charging.
In addition to Skyline, HMD is also expected to launch a Barbie phone in China, which it recently developed with Mattel. The Barbie phone will expand to different markets with its 1450mAh battery and 0.3 Megapixel rear camera.
