This year, Qualcomm came up with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which uses only high-performance cores, just like the MediaTek 9300.Instead of the stock ARM cores, the company used its own developed Orion cores, providing a big performance boost. But does the Snapdragon 8 Elite suffer from overheating problems? According to the first test results, the situation is not very encouraging.
Snapdragon 8 Elite is facing an overheating problem!
The ongoing dispute with ARM is one of Qualcomm’s biggest problems at the moment. The possibility of losing the license to produce ARM processors does not seem to be the company’s only problem. Accordingly, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor faces an overheating problem.
As you know, Realme GT7 Pro will be one of the first smartphone models to use Snapdragon 8 Elite. In this sense, in performance tests with the Realme GT7 Pro, the 8 Elite processor closed with an overheating problem.
In fact, Snapdragon flagship processors have been facing overheating problems for a long time. The processor, which performs much more especially in gaming phones, can reach high temperatures. Gaming phones come up with special cooling systems in this sense.
However, the Snapdragon 8 Elite came up with this overheating problem on a normal flagship phone like the Realme GT7 Pro. The big problem here is that the Realme GT7 Pro may be the real source.
Experts prepared a fake test application for the GT7 Pro model, which achieved high results in performance tests. The goal was to measure how real the phone’s high performance value was. During the test, the model perceived this fake app as a performance test, causing the 8 Elite processor to overheat.
As you know, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 had similar overheating issues when it used only high-performance cores. In this sense, experts recommend that manufacturers use special cooling units for the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The Realme GT7 Pro actually comes with a dedicated cooling unit. However, the fake test application is probably the main factor that caused the phone to overheat. Experts who conducted the test are of the opinion that Chinese phone manufacturers have a structure that detects performance tests such as AnTuTu. The purpose of this fake application was to reveal this secret weapon.
