Codenamed ‘Juniper,’ this refreshed design specifically targets the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets. The company confirmed that deliveries for the revamped Model Y will begin in China in March 2025. While the global release schedule remains uncertain, the Chinese launch is anticipated to generate buzz worldwide. Here’s what you need to know about the redesigned vehicle…
Premium interiors and quiet rides with the new Tesla Model Y
The revamped Tesla Model Y features significant updates both inside and out. The cabin now includes ambient lighting with customizable colors, a new touchscreen for rear passengers, and electric rear seats. Tesla also claims improved suspension that significantly reduces road noise.
The updated Model Y now offers a range of 541 kilometers, up from the previous version’s 531 kilometers. This enhancement is made possible by a lighter build and improved aerodynamics. The dual-motor long-range version with 19-inch wheels offers a remarkable range of 719 kilometers. Additionally, charging times have been improved, enabling faster full charges at Supercharger stations.
Externally, the new Model Y takes design cues from the Cybertruck, with sharp edges and futuristic aesthetics. A front-end light bar gives the vehicle a modern appearance, while the cross-light strip at the rear adds a unique touch. According to Tesla, these design changes not only enhance aesthetics but also improve aerodynamics for better performance.
The updated Model Y will initially be available in the Chinese market. However, Tesla plans to expand the availability to other markets, with announcements for Europe and Turkey expected later this year.
Tesla also hinted at introducing a more affordable model in 2025, although expectations for a price tag below $25,000 remain low. What are your thoughts on the $39,000 Model Y? Share your opinions in the comments below!
