JBL Unveils the Boombox 4
The new JBL Boombox 4 comes in three color options: black, blue, and camouflage. The speaker is 12 percent lighter than the previous model. Additionally, a carrying handle integrated into the body enhances portability. IP68-rated, the device offers full dust and water resistance.
The speaker system consists of seven drivers: dual 5-inch woofers, dual 0.75-inch tweeters, and three passive radiators. This structure provides a wider frequency range and powerful bass response. The JBL Boombox 4 delivers 210W RMS audio output when plugged in and 180W RMS in battery mode.
According to the company’s statement, thanks to its AI-powered audio boost feature, the device analyzes the audio output in real time based on the content being played, providing a dynamic and balanced audio experience.
The device also features a two-stage bass boost mode. This feature allows users to enhance low-frequency response with just one button. The Boombox 4 also features connectivity innovations.
Featuring Bluetooth 5.4 technology, the device can pair wirelessly with multiple compatible JBL speakers thanks to Auracast support. The speaker can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, making switching between devices quick and seamless. Lossless audio streaming is also supported via USB-C.
The JBL Boombox 4 has a battery capacity of 99Wh, providing up to 28 hours of playtime under standard use. This can be extended to 34 hours when the Playtime Boost feature is activated. The device also functions as a power bank, charging mobile devices with a 30W output. Fast charging is also supported via USB-C and AC ports.
The JBL Boombox 4 has launched in China for 3,999 yuan (about $557). A global release date has not yet been officially announced.
