The Grove, built by a company called Oceanco in the Netherlands, caused great controversy in the country. Because of its 127 meter height, it required the dismantling of a historical bridge. However, Dutch citizens opposed the dismantling of the original Koningshaven Bridge.
The reason for the dismantling of Koningshaven had a great resonance on social media. They even said they would shower Bezos’ yacht with eggs if the bridge was dismantled. After the public outcry, Oceanco withdrew its request to dismantle the bridge.
During the summer months, Bezos continued his voyages along the coastlines of Spain, France and Italy on the world’s largest yacht. He even attended the Cannes Film Festival in May with this yacht.
With a crew of 40, Koru redraws the boundaries of luxury sailing with its three-masted configuration. Completed in 2022, the sailing yacht is currently being used by Bezos and Sanchez in Europe.
This entertainment of the Amazon founder has disturbed European citizens. Bezos, who is already the third richest person in the world, has begun to attract more reaction with the worldwide inflation crisis.
