Famous actor Keanu Reeves is adding a new page to his career. Known for The Matrix and John Wick series, this time Reeves will lend his voice to the popular video game character Shadow the Hedgehog. This exciting development will appear both on the big screen and on digital platforms.

Shadow, the beloved character of the Sonic the Hedgehog universe, will come to life with Reeves’ voice in the movie “Sonic the Hedgehog 3”, which will be released towards the end of December. But even more interesting for gamers is the news that Reeves will also voice the same character in the DLC content of Sonic x Shadow Generations.
This development, which was announced at Sony’s State of Play event, made a big echo in the gaming world. The DLC, called ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack’, aims to give players the atmosphere of the film. In the short trailer video shown, we see the character Shadow, voiced by Reeves, adventuring on the streets of Tokyo.
In an interview with PlayStation Blog, the game’s producer Shun Nakamura emphasised that the DLC is independent from the main game. Nakamura said, ‘This is a bonus content that we offer in addition to the main game. However, Shadow’s controls will be the same as in the main game,’ Nakamura said.
Stating that they made an extra effort to make Tokyo look realistic in the game, Nakamura said, ‘Our development team also lives in Tokyo, so we tried to create an environment that is both fun as a Sonic game and reflects the spirit of Tokyo. We even went to the real locations used in the game and did research. It will be very exciting to play as Shadow in a real city, so please look forward to it.’

Good news for gamers is not limited to this. Sonic x Shadow Generations will be released on all consoles and PC on 25 October. ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack’ DLC will be released on 12 December. The DLC will also be included in the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game and players who purchase this version will not have to pay an extra fee.
