Kia is preparing to officially unveil its production model, building on the EV2 concept it unveiled in February. The Kia EV2, the brand’s entry-level electric car, will be fully unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show on January 9th at 10:40 a.m. local time. Kia describes the EV2 as its entry into “a no-compromise, all-electric world.” The new model aims to combine emotional design with modern technology and connectivity features.

Among the features Kia highlighted at its unveiling are:

Marc Hedrich, President and CEO of Kia Europe, said:

“With the EV2, we reaffirm our commitment to making electric mobility truly accessible to a wider audience—without compromise. This compact SUV delivers the innovation and spirit of our larger EVs, seamlessly fitting into everyday life in Europe. We are confident that the EV2, designed, developed, and soon to be produced in Europe, will play a crucial role in shaping the future of responsible mobility in the region.”

According to leaks and reports, the Kia EV2 is expected to be priced around €30,000, competing with compact electric SUVs like the Renault 4 E-Tech. It is understood the model will be produced at the Zilina plant in Slovakia and will be a key part of the affordable electric vehicle strategy.

While technical details are expected to be finalized at the January 9th launch, initial reports suggest that the EV2 will be built on the 400V version of the E-GMP platform and could come with 40-42 kWh (LFP) or 55 kWh (NMC) battery options, with a range of around 400 km.
