Ana sayfa / Windows

Microsoft’s latest Windows security updates released last month have driven Windows 11 users crazy. Users complained on social media and Windows forums that they were having trouble accessing VPNs after the Windows 11 update.

KB5036893, KB5036894 and KB5036892, which were distributed as the April 2024 update, caused some problems in Windows. It was stated that Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server devices could not connect to VPN.

In a forum complaint, Microsoft admitted that “VPN connections may fail after installing the April 2024 security update.” The company said it is investigating the issue and a fix will be available soon.

Users started trying various solutions after the update. Some Windows 11 users reported that after reinstalling VPN apps, the VPN connection was restored. The most effective solution seems to be rolling back the April 2024 Windows update.

April updates can be uninstalled on Windows 11 or 10 via Settings > Windows Update > Update History. However, by uninstalling the update, you will again allow the vulnerabilities that Microsoft fixed in April.

On the other hand, Windows 10 continues to dominate the market. The operating system’s market share reached 70 percent by April, clearly showing that users prefer the old over the new. According to the latest data from StatCounter, Windows 11’s market share dropped from 28 percent to 25 percent in a few months.
