China Leads the Way in Artificial Intelligence and 6G
Reports prepared by the China Cyberspace Research Academy highlighted the country’s remarkable growth in digital infrastructure. According to the report, China holds 60% of the world’s active artificial intelligence patents. This reflects the country’s massive investments in AI technologies.
In addition to artificial intelligence, China also has a clear advantage in 6G, the next-generation communication technology. The country also leads in this field, with 40.3% of global 6G patent applications. Furthermore, China’s 6G industry is expected to reach a size of approximately $168.5 billion by 2030.
The reports don’t just focus on patent numbers. It was reported that by June 2025, 4.55 million 5G base stations had been installed across China, and the number of 5G mobile users had reached 1.12 billion. Furthermore, China remained the world’s largest e-commerce market for the 12th consecutive year. 87.9% of the country’s population uses online shopping.
