Renault, one of the popular names in the automotive world, has added a new electric car to its catalog. The company aims to keep its already beloved models alive by redesigning them with an electric basis. The company introduced the renewed version of Renault 5.
Renault 5 E-Tech, Utilizes the AmpR Small Platform
Renault unveiled its new electric model at the 91st Geneva International Motor Show, which began today and will end on March 3rd. The redesigned version of the old model, Renault 5 E-Tech, was introduced. So, what are the capabilities of the model?
Renault 5 E-Tech is designed to form the basis of compact electric vehicles, utilizing the AmpR Small platform. The vehicle comes with two battery options: 40 kWh or 52 kWh. Additionally, the power transmission system can generate either 90 kW/120 hp or 110 kW/150 hp.
The 52 kWh battery version of the model, which reaches 100 km in eight seconds, features rapid charging capability between 11 kW AC and 100 kW DC, while the 40 kWh battery variant features an 80 kW DC input. The 40 kWh version offers a range of 400 km, while the 52 kWh option offers a range of 400 km as well.
With a length of 3.92 meters, the Renault model seats five people and offers a 326-liter luggage compartment at the rear. Introduced with 18-inch wheels, the model comes in two separate color options named Yellow Pop and Green Pop. The 40 kWh model of the car will be available for sale in Europe for $38,000, while the 52 kWh version will be priced at $58,000. It is expected to arrive in Turkey in the first quarter of 2025.
