Sony’s commitment to exclusive games for the PlayStation brand is well-known. Studios like Insomniac, Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, and Sucker Punch, which is the focus of this news, are essentially carrying the PlayStation brand. Recent reports suggest that Sucker Punch, the developer behind Ghost of Tsushima, is working on a new Infamous game…
Infamous is Coming to PlayStation 5: A Sequel?
It’s been nearly a decade since Sucker Punch released inFamous: Second Son for PlayStation 4. The action game, where players make various moral choices and balance between good and evil, has been one of the brand’s standout titles since the PlayStation 3 era.
In the nine years since Second Son, Sucker Punch has released Ghost of Tsushima, an open-world action-adventure game that perfected many ideas first explored in Infamous. Ghost of Tsushima showcased Sucker Punch’s mastery in creating vibrant, living open worlds filled with meaningful side quests and activities that contribute to the overall narrative.
As you know, Infamous has been silent since the release of Second Son in 2014, leaving players curious about the series’ future. Sources close to Sucker Punch and Sony indicate that following the PC release of Ghost of Tsushima, the studio is now working on a new Infamous game.
Having developed two spin-off titles with Second Son and First Light, it appears Sucker Punch is now developing Infamous 3. Considering that sequels for God of War and The Last of Us are still years away and Horizon: Zero Dawn’s sequel recently launched, we might not have to wait too long for Infamous 3.
