The expected news for the Lenovo Legion Go, which seems like a formidable competitor to Valve’s handheld console, the Steam Deck, has arrived. The console, which had been the subject of various leaks and reports providing insights into its performance, was officially unveiled at IFA 2023. So, what does the device offer to users, and what is its price?

Lenovo Legion Go specs and price

The key layout of the Lenovo Legion Go consists of two analog sticks, a D-Pad, four buttons (A, B, X, and Y), and a touchpad. Additionally, there’s a mouse wheel on the back of the right controller. Considering that the model runs on the Windows 11 operating system, this is a logical move as it makes navigation much easier.

Taking a closer look at the design of the Lenovo Legion Go, it bears some resemblance to the Nintendo Switch and the Steam Deck. The support stand on the back of the device is reminiscent of Nintendo’s console, and especially with its detachable controllers, it directly brings to mind the Joy-Cons of the Switch. Lenovo refers to these controllers as Legion TrueStrike. It’s worth noting that the product weighs 854 grams.

The device features an 8.8-inch touchscreen IPS LCD display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels (QHD+). This screen offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and a brightness of up to 500 nits, while it can lower refresh rates and resolution down to 800p and 60 Hz for better power management.

Powering the console are AMD Ryzen Z1 series processors, and users have the option to upgrade it to the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme.

The handheld console comes with 16 GB of 7500 MHz LPDDR5X RAM and offers storage options of 256/512 GB and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. Additionally, it has a microSD slot that supports up to 2 TB of extra storage. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the product comes with Windows 11 Home out of the box and is powered by a 49.2 WHr two-cell battery.

As for the price of the device, it can be considered a bit on the higher side. Considering that the Steam Deck is sold at around $400, the Lenovo Legion Go starts at $699, and it remains to be seen how it will perform in terms of sales.
